Final Evaluation
I am really happy with tmy two final images. I feel they both represent the new techniques that I have learnt and Can both stand alone as good pieces of art work. However due to my poor time managment I was unable to create a third final image as was requested in the brief. In future I will have to plan my time more effectively so that I do not fall behind again.
For my secong final image I chose to again, scan a graphic image from a book and then scan it into photoshop. I was really pleased with the fnal result. There were hardly any smudges on the scanned picture and it looks like this.
But I felt it was a little plain so I gathered some textures from the internet to use as the back groud of his skin. The textures I found were on a website called grunge textures.
Out of the peeling paint textures I found this example of paint on concrete. I liked it because it was a less vibrant paint than the others there, and though I know it isn't normal to have peeling paint as a skin texture, I didn't want the image to look too cartoony.
This is now going to be one of y final images. I really like the texture of the paint in the line work, it adds a three dimensional element to a very flat sketch. If i could re-do this image I would probably create a series of images along the same line, as a set looks more coherent together.

After layering the texture on top of my scanned image, I found that the texture shows up alot more on the line work of the image, rather than creating a skin type canvas. I chose to use the 'Lighter colour' layering mix and it brought out a flaky texture which looks really good.
I wasn't happy with how plain the deer looked in the end, and so I decided to add light bulbs to the end his antlers, and to illuminate them I am going to use a brush.

This is where I got my brush from. You then dowload the file, unzip it, drag and drop into the photoshop brush section. After experimenting with the brush I created the lit light bulb.
After doing the experimentation with brushes I definitely prefer the uncluttered version of this iamge. The only thing I may change if I could do it again would be getting the model to pose in a better position so the heasd sits better on the neck.

I then copied this image several timesand put them into individual layers onto my deer image.
This is what the image looked like after I had put a few light bulbs in place. However I didn't like the look of them in the end, they were too mechanical for the organic nature of my image so I deleted them and left the Deer and Body how it was. So my final image looks like this...

This image is exactly the sort of thing I wanted to create as a final. The simplicity of it is what apppeals to me, and the hand drawn deer head adds a little quirkiness that sets this image from other graphics.
I think that the Deer head would make a good final image and I wanted to attach a digital photograph of a body onto the head. I chose this photograph.
I am going to cut out the body and not include the head. I will then place this as a layer ontop of the deer head in photoshop. To blend the two together I will use the rubber tool on his neck at a low opacity.
My first idea was to trace a couple of graphics that I found in a book my lecturer had. After tracing a deer's head with a pencil, I went over it with a biro pen; this was to ensure all of the lines would be clear aon the scanner and it wouldn't smudge too much. I then scanned the image onto the computer using photoshop where it looked like this...

Response To Brief
After looking at the brief, my initial ideas would be to create an image that is a mixture of scanned and traced images in conjunction with a digitally made photograph. I would like to have my final images that are a little bit bizarre. Since I have done some research into graphic designers and their images for inspiration, I am now going to attempt to use online tutorials to create brushes and use them in my images aswell to enhance their look.
